#Juneathon: Day 27 – The UK Corporate Games

I bloody LOVE running, I really do. Today I ran the 10K in the UK Corporate Games at the Trentham Estate. All the usual runner types were there, all the people you see on the circuit and a great deal more. It was unusual because people were huddled into groups of organisations, rather than clubs, which made a refreshing change. The route was a tricky one and I decided to  run with my friend, Helen. It was blazing hot and after the first lap of the lake Helen was ready to jack it in! I manage to persuade her to carry on and we ended up in a group of five, fairly evenly paced runners.

My mate, Kris, then asked why I hadn’t legged it off for a PB or something. I explained that if I ran on my own and/or ended up killing myself and collapsing in a dehydrated heap, I simply wouldn’t get anything from it. It may be some peoples bag, but I’m not competitive at all and running with friends is what makes me tick. Helen had never run a 10K in under 1hr 5 mins and today she ran a 59 min 10K in difficult conditions (Movescount). I’m so proud. So in case you missed it, and if you haven’t gathered by now, I bloody LOVE running!!!!
