#Juneathon 2015: Day 6 – Parkrun then Party

Today the Trenthamfolk ran Hanley Parkrun. It’s been a while since we’ve been up to Hanley Park to run as there’s always something going on on a Saturday, be it bootcamp, long run or hangover recovery… However today was my buddy’s (@6townsrunner) 100th Parkrun so we decided to make a team appearance. There were loads of folk about, many in fancy dress, and runners had come from far and wide (some as far as The Dagobah System apparently) to be a part of this weekly event. I saw some old friends & even managed to meet someone I had only ever met in cyberspace.

There were lots of Trentham Running Club members there too getting their runs in before the day begins, for today is the day of the ‘Dougie Mac All Dayer‘! Arranged by some of our club mates and hosted by a local establishment (The Old Brown Jug in Newcastle-under-Lyme, hat-tip their way!) we are gearing up for a day of drinks, live music, BBQ food and fundraising for this superb local charity. Me and the Mrs are therefore going get scrubbed up and sit in the pub for 12 hours, all for charity!

I ran a sloppy 26.5 mins or so (Movescount) but today Parkrun was in celebration of all that’s great about running and preparation for a few guilt-free drinks and burgers. See you on the other side.
