Janathon 2013: Day 28 – Getting There

Today’s blog is very short, as I have lot’s of domestic stuff to be doing – ironing, sorting, washing… The chores have been mounting up, partly due to there being fewer available hours in the because of the sheer amount of bloody running I am doing! However, at day 28, we’re getting there… It’s a bit like when I’m running a race, and the end is just round the next corner… I can feel its’ presence… just can’t quite see it… when I do, after Wednesdays run, I’ll be able to do that sprint finish and celebrate my total for Janathon 2013.

Today I got in from work and hit the road for a relatively warm five miles (Runkeeper). I chose a route that I knew was flat, with no challenges along the way. Not that I’m scared of the odd challenge you understand, I just feel like taking it easy. It’s great to run when there’s no ice around… however, there are these freaky stretches of pavement, placed randomly, that are still encrusted with ice… I don’t know how this works, as today it’s been a balmy 8 degrees in Staffordshire. But there it was, large as life, trying to catch me out!

If anyone knows how that happens, please let me know. I’m off to watch Embarrassing Fat Bodies whilst I iron, to remind myself of why we run.
